CORONAVIRUS

COVID 19 Precautions!

We are monitoring the news of the coronavirus (COVID-19) both locally and globally, and we’re paying attention to guidance published by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We continue to monitor the recommendations from state and local government agencies.

Please follow the State’s  Stay at Home order which was enacted today into law.

While we realize no environment is 100% safe, we need to take precautions and safety measures to ensure that proper cleaning standards and sanitation is maintained for everyone’s safety. We need also to work with our communities to assist in monitoring our environment and take extra precautions. We also ask you to help maintain a safe environment in your homes. If you are experiencing illness or not feeling well, please stay home and contact your medical provider by phone. Whatever you do, please stay home till you are advised by your medical provider where you may seek help.

PREVENTION:

We strongly encourage you to become educated in how the coronavirus behaves. Take some time to understand proper preventative measures to support that staying a part and not gathering in groups will help in the solution.

Here are some of the basic measures listed on the CDC website:

•  Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

•  Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

•  Stay home when you are sick.

•  Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

•  Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

•  Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

•  If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.

Thank you,

Winston County EMA
